Parking Permits

All residents living within a permit restricted parking zone are eligible for parking permits. In addition to the permit, each household receives two visitor parking permits. Residential permits and visitor permits are only permitted for your restricted parking zone and are not transferable to another zone.

The 3 year renewal rate for parking permits is $15 per vehicle. The rates decrease or are prorated by year in the amount of $5, until the end of each respective cycle.

Residential Parking Permits

For each vehicle registered to, being transferred to, or has proof of ownership connected to an address within a residential parking district is eligible to apply.

Visitor Parking Permits

Each household within a residential parking district is authorized two visitor permits for free with the purchase of a residential parking permit to use for the duration of the cycle. Residents are not allowed to use visitor permits. Any person caught using a visitor permit unlawfully will be fined $60 for the first offense and $100 for all offenses after.

Temporary Parking Permit

Temporary parking permits are available on a case by case basis for residents that reside within a residential permit parking district. A temporary parking permit can be purchased up to one year at a time at $1 per month. This application must be completed in-person.

To request parking permits, you will need to:
In-person or by Mail: Complete the application and return to the police department. Please allow seven (7) business days from date mailed to process.
Online: Complete an online application. Please allow five (5) business days for processing.

Parking Districts Expiration Dates

The City of Rockville has nine parking districts. Each district has a 3-year renewal cycle.
